A standard max deal for a player coming off their rookie contract is 25% of the
salary cap. However, if a player is named an All-star starter twice, named all-NBA twice, or is named MVP then they are eligible to be paid 30% of the salary cap limit. For players that have been in the league for 7-9 year, the max contract is 30%. Players in the league 10+ years have a max limit of 35%.
