With the right script-writer, using 5th generation fighters and drones in
today's style of conflict could be quite the compelling story.
The Russian Sukhois might not have all the Hollywood appeal of the F22 or the navy's F35 (probably the plane featured in the film), but from all accounts they are maneuverable beasts and quite capable fighters.
The F35, on the other hand, is somewhat of a compromised multi-role jet could be at an energy disadvantage to a SU-27 or Sukhoi's new F22-clone.
I dunno, this could be a great film.
Or they could just repeat Top Gun with Goose's kid from the instructor's perspective (a bit boring).
I'm looking forward to it.
