Hatfield will be dismissed from the University of Utah. The charge is enough to make this happen, regardless of what happens with his legal proceedings. In contrast, Charles West was not released from his scholarship when he was charged with a felony.

I'm not making a qualitative judgment on either. If I was to make a judgment, I think BYU's non-bright line policy is probably the better choice.
