be good fits with the Jazz scheme.

Exum is going to be great ... in three years. Problem is that Hayward, Gobert, and Favors are ready now. We can't wait 3 years for Exum to grow up. I think the Jazz should have done the following in order of priority:

1) get another true scoring threat. Sure we had a good run at the end of last year but our offense was terrible. Once coaches start to figure out how to attack us better, we'll need more offense to keep pace. We HAVE to get more offense this next season, and I don't see adding Lyles as the only off season acquisition as doing it for us.

2) They need outside shooting to improve spacing. Maybe Hood fills this role, but is he going to be the only one?

3) They need better PG play now ... not in 3 years. I'd hire a solid vet to play 20 minutes a game, whether starting or off the bench, and bring Exum along more gradually. Yeah, I know we have Trey -- that's not the answer either.

4) Backup center as you said. I'm fine with Pleiss here, although it'd be nice to have someone who averages more than 4 ppg in an inferior league. I'm not as worried here because I think you can slide favors over and we have other guys playing the 4.

I didn't expect the Jazz to do all 4 things, but I certainly expected them to do #1 OR #2. They didn't. Next year's team will consequently be most likely an 8th seed and then out of the playoffs.

Developing talent time is over ... the Jazz need to build to win now while they have Hayward/Favors/Gobert together and playing at a high level.
