any tips on pulling carpet up and carefully separating the seam between rooms?
I have a soaked carpet pad on the other side of where my furnace is. Seems like it froze up and has been leaking as the ice melts.

The carpet itself is damp but the pad is just soaked. Its probably been like that for ~48 hours...ish? It's not a huge area that is wet. I figure I'll just replace like a 6'x3' rectangle and leave it at that. I'd rather not mess with mold possibilities.

With that, I need to pull the carpet up. The damp spot goes through a doorway into the hall. I'm assuming there is a seam in the doorway. How can I get that up without completely tearing the carpet?
