It takes more that just genetics. Many times kids of former athletes are kept
from some of the harder parts of becoming a great player like sitting on the bench or earning your way onto the field or court. My guess is MJ's son never had to make a team he was just their because his potential and $$$ was too good to pass up. He never had the experience his dad did of getting cut from a team. That motivation never left his father and was part of what made him great.
