I need to haul a trailer with 4 canoes on it, but there is no electrical hook-up
at the hitch area on my SUV. Will I be okay with red flags at the end of the trailer? I think my car's tail lights will be visible for the most part...

Why would an SUV have a hitch w/ no wiring?

Get some cheap ones at harbor freight. I would guess $25 or less. Use magnets.
