Things that Big Academia gets away with that nobody ever publicly challenges
1. I swear as soon as you open that new text book it loses 80% of its value.
2. How are we making a new edition for math every year? Math doesn't change.
3. If an Economics professor really knew business then certainly they'd be out in the real world making money. I think of them as a career politician trying to lecture on the private market when they themselves have never set foot in the private market.
4. Big Academia is the one racket that the media or politicians never question for extravagant salaries or unfair market practices. When higher education gets in trouble the default talking point is that "we must subsidize even more money to save education." Nobody ever questions salaries
