One of the really small towns around here has an annual July 4th parade that is really just a big water fight. As part of a family reunion we put a float together and entered the parade.
By "put a float together," I mean we put a sign on a 40 foot flatbed trailer. We also put apple bins full of water on the trailer and armed the whole crew with super soakers.
We thought we were pretty smart with our 500+ gallons of water to dump on the crowds, but we didn't have enough firepower. As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot onto the main road, we were met by some not-so-innocent bystanders on the side of the road with a trash pump in the irrigation canal hooked up to a firehose. Within seconds everyone on our float was dripping wet. Most of us couldn't even see well enough to fight back. Even our semi driver got soaked with his windows part way down.
Any ideas on how to combat this next year? I have access to a 7,000 gallon water truck, but that might be a bit overboard.
