Do feminists consider this appalling?

I'm curious as the girl made a fist to punch the guy, then he held the fist and she hit him with a left. Then he obviously hit her.

If men and women are equal, shouldn't be the one going to jail for starting the fight and he would receive a much lesser punishment for retaliation?
