The women are paid less than the men but the women get higher TV ratings, at least in the U.S. Granted, they made it to the final.

The point is that if the U.S. Women are able to get more TV viewers than the U.S. Men, it stands to reason that eventually they would be paid what the men are paid because it's all about viewership.

The question for me is: would the U.S. Men get even higher viewership than the women if they made it to the final? And internationally is the men's game much more popular than the women's? The U.S. is probably unique in terms of the popularity of women s soccer vs men's.
