Crime: seeking employment illegally. Aiding: helping criminal seek employment.
Granted, I doubt that OP would be prosecuted for hiring an illegal alien, but he is still aiding an illegal alien in seeking unlawful employment by employing him. Ironically, it's also illegal to not withhold income tax from his payment, even though he's illegal and paying him is illegal.
