I just returned from my cousins funeral. He was a major BYU fan.
I just wanted to thank a few BYU players who didn't think much of what they did but meant everything to my cousin. I know that they're most likely not on the board but others might know them and share with them my thanks.

1st-Lexi Eaton and the other girls with her at the time, Thank you for making my cousin feel awesome at the Volleyball game he attended. You probably didn't think much about talking to the disabled young man in front of you but it meant the world to him having a lady talk to him (even though he couldn't really talk back) and treat him as if he didn't look or act any different than a normal person.

2nd-Nate Carter, I've already told the story about Nate's visit but I'll share it again. "I was visiting my cousin at the care facility he is at. He can't do anything for himself/including talking. Well he is a major BYU fan. When I walked in his mother told me to look at his wall. On the wall was a signed BYU Football ( It appeared to be the whole team) complete with a display case. Apparently word got to BYU and a few days ago a group of players game to the facility and sat and met with him. They gave him the football and Nate Carter (The only one my aunt knew the name of) talked and gave him a poster and signed it.

Nate has done more than that for my cousin. He knows him by name and is always asking for updates. I'll always remember him for taking his personal time around the holidays and visiting my cousin and trying to keep in touch afterwards.

3rd-I want to thank Mitch Matthews, Kurt Henderson, Skye Povey, and again Nate Carter. They probably didn't think much of signing that BYU flag for my cousin but from his bed all he could see all day was the flag that they signed for him, and the ball that the football team signed. It really helped him through the fight against his Huntington's Disease.

I love how BYU players don't just play sports. They are great young men/women that use their positions to help those who just need a little cheer in their lives. Thank you for making my cousins last year bearable.
