I'll preface this by saying we have strict policy to purchase NOTHING from door-to-door salesman, except for freeze-dried 3-year old meat. Source unknown. Tonight, during the middle of dinner we get the "knock." I answer with all 4 kids running to the door thinking a friend beckons. I smile, let the guy know I appreciate him having to go door-to-door but I'm not interested. He didn't even get into his pitch...although he did go into a verbal tirade in front of my kids about Mormons, keeping the minorities down, etc. etc. Uses a few curse words, at which point I asked him to get off the property.

Was I acting out of line here? By simply not wasting each others time? Anyone else had some awkward encounters with these guys?
