A bit more info on Jimmer's deal with the Spurs. $508k guarantee, January cut-
down date.
So this is better than your typical "training camp" deal. It appears that the Spurs intend to give Jimmer a legit shot at thriving in their system. And, they intend for Jimmer to make it onto the roster out of training camp. The way I see it, Jimmer would have to have a bad training camp/preseason to not make the opening day roster. Then, if Jimmer shows good progress becoming comfortable in their system, he probably gets to stick around. If he struggles picking up the system or finding a way to contribute within the system, he won't make it past January.
