We'll have a lot better chance at landing guys like FJ and Jabari once we
improve our national profile. To do that we HAVE to win. A team that gets to the Sweet 16 once every twenty years just doesn't have the same appeal to these big names as programs like Duke or UNC. There will be more guys like FJ and Jabari down the road. But we'll never get them (I guess I should say rarely. There's always a possibility) unless we can build a strong basketball tradition. Dave Rose has us on that track. He turned our program around and is now bringing better talent than we have ever had in the program.

But none of that means anything unless we win. The talent we have coming in in the next five years is enough to reach the later rounds of the tourney. Rose finally will have the tools. We won't have the excuses of having less talent.

Success is possible, even if we are in the WCC. Look at Gonzaga. But that program took years and years of consistency to build. We are headed in that direction as long as we keep knocking down the type of talent that we have been. Harding is a great pickup.
