paying out money towards BYU football? I can see people discussing and wishing the BOT would do this, but some on here act like the BOT owe us this, that it is the BOT responsibility or something.
BYU football isn't a Church program. It is a BYU sports program. Even though BYU football can be a missionary tool, the Church isn't going to use church funds to support/bolster BYU football. It just doesn't seem to be what they are going to do, or they would have done it already. 90% of members would have a problem with it anyway. The funds need to come from BYU, not the Church itself (and yes BYU is owned by the church, but BYU and BYU athletics have their own finances).
