The Fire Sign Cafe has an amazing breakfast and there is a very kid friendly beautiful hike a few miles away by Donner Lake and you can talk a little cannibalism with them.

Depends on if you are interested in this sort of thing but Virginia City is cool for a stroll. Again, not sure how old they are but there are some cool sights to see there for an afternoon.
