Flame away, but I suspect the internet has killed your fandom. And, ironic as it seems, fan discussion boards are the vector of your epidemic core erosion. I am as excited as ever, but I very quickly eject from the cockpit of obvious kamikaze com-plane-fests.
My enjoyment of the games, the efforts of the players and loyalties to my school mean more to me than being a realist or even being right. Fraternizing with a club of nihilists--no matter how sincere their anxiety--does not enhance the quality of my fan experience. I think over-exposure to the negative will inherently lead to seeds of disillusionment, no matter the intentions.
I love Cougarboard for the great info and enthusiastic posts. I seem to be scanning and skipping more and more posts, but the wheat is still worth the chaff. Doesn't mean I will eat the chaff, though.
Not meaning to preach, just proffering some ideas for self-reflection if you find yourself feeling jaded, lately.
