I had a kidney stone in the middle of the night, and I was writhing in pain on the ER floor. The nurses chastised me and asked skeptical questions rather than taking care of me. It was an hour later before anyone would treat me. I actually called my wife and told her to get down there and vouch for me, realizing they probably thought I was after meds.

Only after a CT scan did I get any sympathy.
