the scheme is designed for olb to be the main ones who pressure the qb
The DL largely are expected to fill their gaps and take up blocks.

This said, the scheme is designed in part to be able to bring 0, 1, or 2 lbs from different spots. From The old dreaded 3 man rush and playing coverage to rushing 6, or rarely bringing a cb blitz. The goal is in part to confuse the Ol on where the rush is coming from, although I thought Byu's backers last year didn't disguise as well as past years. When you have a kvn it doesn't matter as much since he has the talent to beat the OL.

What I noticed last year is our lbs except Takitaki weren't very effective when they rushed. The mlbs in particular struggled when they got the green light to blitz. Langi wasn't ready and Pikula just struggles to tackle in space. As far as the DEs even though they aren't consistently expected to provide pressure, they saw more one on one and simple were slow to get off blocks or make a play on the qb when they had the chance. peck really struggled and was basically benched. I echo the other poster above that Logan Toele is much better and played better as the year went on. A healthy Bronson is also going to be a big upgrade to Rowley since Bronson is simple much better in technique and speed. tuiloma is very solid. And you also hope some of the lbs will step up. I expect Takitaki and Langi to be improved/pretty good, Warner too.
