I know this Dir of Player Personnel position isn't going to all of a sudden
bump BYU up to the Top 25 in recruiting, but I do think Martzen may have been enough to get perhaps one guy every other year or so that BYU probably wouldn't have gotten with a traditional BYU LDS guy. I do think Nick Kurtz would be at Texas Tech if Martzen hadn't been at BYU.
Not to give Martzen all this credit, but he did seem to fit today's recruiting world pretty well . . . especially with the social media that these 17 year old high school kids absolutely love.
