I wonder if he is pain free yet. At more than twice his age, I bet an injury like that would be hard for me to walk on a year later.
My son fell on a corrugated tin sheet that left a four inch laceration to the bone that exposed his knee cap. He had several layers of stitches (maybe 30 in all though nobody was counting -- took the ER doc over an hour to sew it up). He did his on the 4th of July and today there is just a thin line of a scar that you would not notice unless you were looking closely. It makes a nice "L" shape with his ACL scar from last July. Neither injury bothers him. Oh to be young again!
