Seems like on so many series, we would start out with 2 quick running plays up the middle that would net 2-3 yrs total, leaving us in frequent 3rd and long situations. Then we'd rush, no huddle, to pull off whatever pass play we had ready to go, often resulting in taysom scrambling. The resulting pass game seemed out of synch and even though Taysom's numbers were decent 4 games in, our receiving corps was significantly underutilized.
What is the point of incessantly running it up the middle? To wear out the defense? Any other insights? Seems like that is not likely to do much damage against the top teams in our schedule with depth. It just seemed to give the opposing defense a couple of quick stops.
In year 3 of GFFH, with more emphasis on the pass game, will we see less of the "2 yards and a cloud of dust" approach? What does Dr Bob have up his sleeve?
