Washing machine leaving black spots on clothes
I have a GE top loader washing machine that's about 10 years old. The last two times I have used it, it has left black greasy spots on my white clothes. It only seems to happen when I run a load of whites for some reason. Maybe the hot water?

Anyway, any idea what could be causing it and if it's something that can be fixed by me? I read online that it might be leaking grease from a bearing but I am not sure. GE says that since 2005 it is "impossible" for oil to leak from the transmission, if you believe that. I don't use fabric softener either, so that's out of the equation. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks.
