the job of defensive coordinator. The play-calling is the obvious thing they can see on game day, but of course there is so much more to it than that. The good news is that Bronco is much more than the play-caller this season - he is the defensive coordinator, although Howell technically holds that title. Bronco will head up game-planning, will run practices, and in short will be in charge of all things defensive. Howell will step in to run things if/when Bronco is pulled away during the week to handle head coaching duties, but otherwise Howell is the DB coach. So, Bronco is the real DC, with Howell as DB coach and substitute/part-time DC. This is the same defensive coaching setup we had in 2013, and it worked very well.
