The east end of Lake McDonald (opposite Apgar Village) has a shore that is full of the world's best skipping rocks. We brought a picnic lunch along and had a good time. If you have kids in tow, rent a motorboat at Apgar Village for an hour or two - they're surprisingly inexpensive. Or rent a rowboat or canoe at the other lakes in the park - those were probably my boy's favorite things.
