We have a couple of stand-bys. We usually do pizza once a week. We also do
spaghetti once or twice a month. There are other meals that we probably end up doing a couple of times in a month, but I wouldn't call them a stand-by.

Other than that we usually pick a variety of meats and plan our meals around those. We just start basic... some chicken, beef, pork, or fish, and then think of a side that might be good to go along with it. Every once in a while we'll have a soup night where we'll make a couple of soups. Nothing special really.

We've also tried cooking favorite foods that you would get at a restaurant as a way to motivate thriftiness. It has actually turned out pretty well.

I do like to try new things once in a while, so I'll just get on the internet and look something up and try and do it myself. I wouldn't say I'm a great chef or anything, but I do well enough that my family likes it.
