Do you realize that MB has a lot of lower range
vehicles? They just don't sell them in the US. Same with BMW to a lesser degree.
Here's another way to look at it. The scale and learning advantages that Toyota, Honda, and Nissan have enable them to develop higher end product with great reliability.
That said, I understand the stigma concern.
