My grandma died of it, but it was not fast. It went on for a couple of years
I remember the last year or so of her lying in her hospital bed in there house with my grandpa taking care of her, I would go and "watch her" at times, crushing up the pills and giving her food through her feeding tube etc.. You could see in her eyes that her mind was sharp but she could not move or communicate in any way.
