Whittingham had an opportunity for a teaching moment when his athletes had a
fake baptism. He utterly and willfully failed. Whittingham and his failure of being proactive is proof that the Utes are NOT at peace with the Mormons. Strangely, nearly both sides of the story would agree that Whittingham's religion has helped him recruit many gifted Mormon athletes. Whittingham could leverage the status of being an LDS HC of a team where fans are divided. He could publicly condemn such obvious demonstrations of stupidity. Instead he constantly chooses to ignore it. I think Whittingham wants a divide between the LDS and non LDS in the state of Utah.

Whittingham has always been taught to be a divisive figure. I thought the one attribute he had would be to promote a sort of mutual understanding. After all, he is a BYU alum. Instead, things have become worse. So, so much worse. Truly pathetic.
