I do not think that you can really compare teams until the season is over. They are trying to compare the 2006 team knowing the outcome of the games to the current team where no games have yet been played. That is crazy in my opinion. What happens if this team wins 11 games? I certainly am not saying that that will happen but would that change their opinions? They are comparing a known entity with their own opinions of the potential of the current team. Totally meaningless.
