NO, not grounds to fire a coach but what it does do is hammer the confidence level of fans and players alike. BYU's D singlehandedly won the BSU game. Why would Bronco take the game out of their hands with a do or die 2 point try? Particularly, as you mentioned, when Boise could not kick and they could not run and they could not pass. It was such a no-brainer to tie the game, then let our D and our kicker win it in OT. If I had been a defensive player I would have been fuming on the sidelines. Boise had 4 attempts from the one yard line and could not get in. So we go for 2. Really?

Some on this board think it was an OK decision. It was a brain dead and clueless decision. I love much of what Bronco does but he truly needs an assistant coach to be in his ear regarding clock and big moment decisions. Bronco is not good at this. I know one of the U assistant coaches. He told me the Ute staff chuckles when they watch BYU game film. Yeah that ticks me off. But I am not surprised. If BYU was my opponent I would chuckle too, at times.
