I think the proof is in the pudding. BYU announced a long term series with Boise State right about this time and professed their love for independence. Cecil Samuelson was telling fans to "not hold their breath" regarding joining the big 12. Them boom......TCU had an invite. Now we see how it came about. Had Holmoe been visiting with and building strong relationships with Big 12 athletic directors during this critical time maybe things could have been different.
