unfortunately a thing of the past. There are still some nice jazz clubs but the wonderful black culture of painters, musicians, poets, and fashionistas was pretty much destroyed in the 80's (and unfortunately it won't ever return).

The only real reason a tourist would want to go to Harlem would be to see the amazing brownstone architecture (but you can see that all over the City).
