Preference generally wins out, however, if you would starting a new cloud IT system, with AWS, WHICH configuration management tool would you use with it? These are the choices (or name your own, I guess) and WHY... SALTSTACK. (new kid on the block) Ansible (easist to learn? debatable) Puppet (been around the longest has had the most time to flesh out its problems.) CHEF (Second Longest out, and got to check out Puppet for a bit before coming out with their tool. They are influence heavily by Puppet. (Or at least what NOT to do) Is there even very many people that know much about this stuff? I imagine there are plenty of programmers, but I would guess the in between, the sysadmin/devolper or devop, is more rare and the time being... THOUGHTS?
