It was a great weekend for Blair and Summerhays. Finau had another top 20 which is great but with a just a good weekend he would have most likely already be in the top 30.

Right now Justin Thomas is number 30 with 1221. Just so happens that Thomas and Finau are likely neck and neck for Rookie of the Year. Anyway here is the current standings:

When you look at the point distribution http://www.pgatour.com/fedexcup/fedexcup-point-distribution--fedexcup-playoffs.html You see that coming in the top 4 is such a huge advantage because the point distribution is 100 between 4th and 5th. The point distribution between 14th and 15th is only four points all the way down 69th and 70th which makes just a 200 point difference between coming in 20th and 70th.

Ben Martin is 29th and is at 1229 then above him is Kevin Na at 1260, Matt Kuchar at 1282, and Lingmerth at 1305... more than a 100 points above Finau. The seperation between Martin at 29th and Na at 28th is pretty big. Especially since at the BMW there will be no cut line and everyone in the top 70 will be earning points.

Bottom line is that Finau is in good shape. Blair is 200 points out of the 30th spot and needs another big finish which might be hard with the courses getting longer. Summerhays is 140 out and again needs another big finish. Going to be hard for the both the BYU boys to get into the Masters.
