Rumors on this board that one of the starting Husker DT's are out. Most are pointing to Maliek Collins. I can say with absolute certainty that those rumors are false and I am also pretty sure only exist on here. Michael Rose Ivy (projected LB starter) and Cethan Carter (difference maker at TE despite lack of stats....the old Tim Beck offense ignored TEs quite infamously) will both be out which is great news for BYU. The heart of our defense is the 3 man rotation at DT though. The DL as a whole is large, solid against the run, plays their assignments well, doesn't generate a great pass rush, but they are tough up the middle.
I have seen a lot of posters pointing to Wisconsin and previous year stats against the run, you must understand that was a defense that put only 5-6 men in the box and played 2-gap across the line. Mark Banker, historically, has had teams solid against the run (terrible against the pass). We have a strong secondary though, but I do expect them to give up yards to Hill as he is a true duel threat and they will be playing aggressive.
All of that said, good luck, we both will need some for a win as I see this as a pretty even match up.
