How young are the kids? Provo River has it's dangerous spots besides
the arctic cold water. I did it with teenagers in inner tubes and in hindsight shouldn't have brought my 10 yo daughter.
I'd never do it if the outside temp is less than about 95 (or overcast) without a raft. Just too darn cold.
