How do you go about finding a new career?
I need a new direction in my career, but I have no idea where to even begin. I've been doing web development for the past eight or so years. I graduated in information systems, and tried to avoid programming courses, but ended up in web development doing a lot of programming. There are some definite positives to web development as a career, but overall I feel very unsatisfied in my profession. Do I just suck it up and stop being a wimp, or is it a real possibility that I could make a change that will allow me to have more satisfaction in my work?

I enjoy the creative process, the design/architecture phases of web development, databases - both design and SQL (DB work might be my favorite aspect of my career). I like working with others to solve problems. I really enjoy learning new things. I go crazy dealing with layout/front-end work (I'm very competent, just don't like it much). I am very bored with the day to day stuff.

Any ideas on what might be a good direction for me, or how I can even go about figuring that out?
