I was just watching the 2012 BYU Utah highlights, don't ask me why I do that to myself, and was reminded that if we hadn't used 2 timeouts previously in the 2nd half, we would have had much more time for the game winning/tying drive. Last year there were multiple games when an inability to manage the clock towards the end cost us i.e. Memphis. Notre Dame from a few years ago also comes to mind as a game where we would have greatly benefited from having all our timeouts at the end. Is this a recurring theme every season or just occasional mistakes?
