this kinda reminds me of the Utah guys who say "the inversion isn't that bad"
I barely notice it, and stuff. There are literally days you are told to not go outside because the inversion/pollution is so bad.

It's interesting how people have enough pride in where they live that they downplay stuff about it that is actually super terrible. It's all in what you can handle compared to what you can enjoy. If you can't handle snow EVER, but love/tolerate extended periods of oppressive heat, then yeah, you need to move to the Desert.

If you have to live in Utah because you love the mountains or can't move away from your mom and can handle months of no sun in the winter, then yeah, live in Utah.
