It depends on why you are going,what your interests are, and what you want to do

My wife and I are big World War II history buffs and like visiting capitols. Oahu was the natural place for us to go. Others like beaches or hiking. Maybe Maui would be better. If you like Volcanos or serious hiking maybe Hawaii is better. It all depends on your goals.
