...WR screens this season. Hearing this the only thing that crossed my mind was:

"Please tell me they're not thinking of throwing more WR screens to Mitch Mathews!"

UW killed us in Fight Hunger Bowl a couple years ago by putting speedy WR's out in the flat and throwing them WR screens and letting them beat the man in front of them for big gains. I know we don't have WR's as speedy as those the Huskies had but we're not too bad off with the likes of Mitchell Juergens, Devon Blackmon and Trey Dye. Even splitting a guy like Nate Carter out wide would be good. I just don't want to see us throwing to MM out in the flat and then watch him big footedly and long leggedly try to juke the smaller quicker DB in front of him to get YAC.

That's one of the few knocks I had with Anae and the way he ran the offense last year. I hope this year we see him do a better job of putting his folks in position to utilize their strengths. I want to see MM catching some fade routes in the corner of the end zone and outleaping defenders to get the ball on deep outs, not being wasted catching 5-7 yd slants or WR screens.
