This is what BYU is facing

Storied Tradition

I don't care how "down" Nebraska might be now, they have quite the résumé in college football. Down right impressive. Does it mean that BYU hasn't been in "storied" venues before and will BYU be in AWE of Memorial Stadium? I think not, but there will be respect and deservedly so. Nebraska has earned that privlage. Now up to Nebraska to defend their house. For BYU, this is another place to showcase NU what BYU can do.

Texas felt BYU wrath as Taysom and the gang exploded on them, not once, but TWICE. Grover went viral and BYU was mentioned all the time on ESPN. No fear, just respect.

Last Year

Two things that strike me as interesting..One really. 28 straight opening games win streak. What other NCAA team can say that? That is quite a stretch and shows the consistency of the Nebraska program. Opening teams have been rather on the weaker side, but I would gladly have that record. Since FSU in 1985/86, Nebraska will be facing a much more impressive opening team in BYU. I think Nebraska "respects" BYU in this regard and Nebraska knows this will be a fierce battle.

Coach

BYU knows of this coach, has beaten Mike 2 out of three times (2009, 2011) and lost to them in 2012. BYU coaches know what to expect from Mike, but this Nebraska team has talented players (returning) and incoming. Speed will be better with this NU team than with OSU from previous years. 1st year for Mike with this talented team, let's see how Armstrong can handle (pick up blitz packages) and deliver the ball to his WR. I sense that WHEN Armstrong holds on too long, you will see the tendancy to run more and that bodes well for BYU LB as they will be healthy, quick to adjust to Armstrong speed. Harvey, met Armstrong. I like that matchup..

What I see

So, with all that, I still like BYU to win this game. NU will need to count for Taysom and IF they iso a LB or safety on Taysom, bye bye NU secondary as Taysom will suck them in and throw over them often. Match up nightmare for NU. Contain Taysom, he dinks and dunks all game long and NU offense isn't there to produce enough points when they are behind. Playing NU early is perfect for BYU, but playing NU later in the season would be a much different scenario.

Game score: BYU 34-NU 17. And for giggles, BYU homers said this about the upcoming game
