I think you have to ask yourself what is the purpose does the church have in putting together a football team at their school? It is a missionary program. It helps people see the church in a different light and hopefully generate interest. I believe any BYU athlete, in one way is a representative of the church, and like our formal representatives (missionaries) they should be held to a higher standard. Do I mean missionary standards? Of course not. But if they do anything that would reflect poorly on the church or anything a regular student of BYU would be disiplind for he or she should miss playing time. Do we as the public have to know of the details? No, but something should happen.
