As a coach of youth soccer and baseball I've always tried to teach kids that learning to hit a curve ball isn't about making the bigs, but about dealing with whatever life throws at you.

Youth and high school sports is a safe environment to learn a lot of life lessons. And have fun. And create cool memories. That's about all it is for most of us.
