How did Brady fail to cooperate with the investigation?
By destroying his cell phone? I don't get that.

The league wanted his cell phone so they could see what texts he sent to the equipment managers. Yet the league already had full access to all the text messages those equipment managers received and sent. So what more could they learn from Brady's cell? Do they think he sent incriminating texts to his grandma?

And by the time Brady destroyed his cell phone, he knew the league already had all the relevant information from the cell phones of the equipment managers. So while one could argue that Brady wasn't smart to destroy his phone and that the optics of it weren't good, it seems hard to argue that the destruction of his phone impeded the investigation in any way, or that Brady was deliberately trying to bury evidence.

It seems like the league was, yet again, just trying to get Brady on something ... anything.
