It's pretty obvious that he shouldn't have done it. And yeah, while they technically didn't HAVE to have it, that's still a failure to cooperate no matter how you justify it.

Turns out he was probably trying to hide evidence of Ben Affleck cheating more than any evidence of cheating himself.
