A referree "supervisor" or a retired ref that the broadcast team can get input from on the air to explain a weird call, or get his opinion on a controversial call.

Well, from what I've seen, the dude nearly always takes the side of the ref no matter how silly the call was. It's kinda a stupid and pointless exercise if the guy is just going to try to justify a bad call. Happened last night in the tcu game. Bugs me.

We need someone like Barkley who would say, "yeah, that ref blew it. Terrible call."
